Remote and hybrid work made the home office a permanent fixture, but most houses in the Fraser Valley were built before that was a design consideration. A spare bedroom becomes an office by default — a desk from a big-box store, a bookshelf that doesn't quite fit, cables running everywhere. We design the room properly instead: a built-in desk sized to your monitor setup and work style, shelving that reaches the ceiling instead of stopping at head height, and cable management routed through the cabinetry so the space looks finished, not improvised.
Many of our home office projects combine several functions on one wall — a desk, a bookcase, closed cabinets for files and supplies, and sometimes a media or display area if the room doubles as a den. For homes where the spare room also needs to work as a guest room, we frequently pair the office with a Murphy or wall bed, so the desk folds into daily use and a real bed appears for overnight guests without either function getting in the other's way.
